Lead Engineer, Motor Design

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead R&D Engineer to join our team and lead the development of electric motors for fan applications. As a Lead Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and optimizing electric motors, ensuring the highest performance, efficiency, and reliability standards are met. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, global environment and contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge solutions within the HVAC/R and powertrain industries. You will collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to create innovative solutions that meet customer and market demands.


Key Responsibilities:


Design & Development

  1. Lead the design and development of electric motors for fan applications, from concept to production.
  2. Use advanced simulation tools to optimize motor performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  3. Continuously improve motor designs to enhance efficiency and reliability.


Project Management

  1. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external teams to align project goals and deliverables.


Technical Expertise

  1. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  2. Stay updated with the latest innovations in electric motor technology and integrate them into the development process.


Testing & Validation

  1. Develop and execute testing protocols to validate motor performance and reliability.
  2. Analyze test data and implement design modifications when necessary.


Collaboration

  1. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  2. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into the production process.


Documentation

  1. Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, test results, and project progress.
  2. Prepare technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.


Communication & Team Collaboration

  1. Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Engage with customers to provide technical support and solutions during challenging technical scenarios.
  3. Foster strong teamwork across regional and functional teams, ensuring smooth project execution and alignment of goals.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Project Success Rate: Measure successful project completions leading to market-ready products.
  2. Innovation Contributions: Track the number of innovative solutions or patents generated.
  3. Quality of Collaboration: Assess the support and collaboration with team members and other departments.
  4. Proactive Updates: Monitor the frequency and accuracy of project updates and progress.


Required Skills & Knowledge:


Education

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.


Experience

  1. Proven experience in electric motor design and development.
  2. Strong background in electromagnetic simulation and motor manufacturing processes.


Technical Skills

  1. Proficiency in CAD software and motor simulation tools.
  2. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  3. Experience with project management and cross-functional team collaboration.


Personal Attributes

  1. Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  2. Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  3. Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and quality.


Other Requirements

  1. Willingness to travel for project meetings, testing, and team collaboration.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office and motor design/simulation software (MotorCad or similar).
  3. English proficiency at a B2-C1 level.
